Making opera sexy since 2017, Opera del Sol invites you to join us on Friday, November 13th (Friday THE 13th), for a one-of-a-kind digital performance, Nightwear on Elm Street. Opera del Sol, in partnership with the Orlando International Fringe Festival, will present an original opera-burlesque cabaret, inspired by our favorite villains paired with our favorite voices.  It is sure to be a thrilling evening filled with both glamour and gore!

Not a newcomer to blending burlesque and opera, Opera del Sol presented its first opera-burlesque, Mozart & Marie, to sold out crowds at the 2018 Orlando Fringe Festival.  The company is excited to be back innovating in this genre and to have Miss Foxy (Elaine Hoxie) joining us on stage again for this production.  Joining Opera del Sol for the first time in a full length production are some of Orlando’s most beloved burlesquers, including Tush (Tymisha Harris) and Cabana Macabre.  They will be accompanied by Opera del Sol’s studio artists and acclaimed pianist and composer, Julian Bond, making the world class music for which the company is best known. “We are so excited to present another sexy musical production, sure to leave your breathless, in more ways than one” say Opera del Sol founder, Nicole Dupre

The Fringe team is equally eager for this upcoming performance.  “Orlando Fringe is excited for this partnership with Opera del Sol, a veteran Fringe company that consistently raises the bar in entertainment” says Fringe Producer, Lindsay Taylor who has been spearheading offering digital performances to their audiences since their annual festival was forced to cancel due to the pandemic in May. Opera del Sol and sister company, Central Florida Vocal Arts have been collaborating with Orlando Fringe since 2014.  In support of the amazing work they do, Opera del Sol will be donating half of all proceeds from ticket sales to Orlando Fringe.

For just a $10 digital ticket, audiences can attend our digital broadcast (via YouTube Live premiere link) on Friday, November 13th with interactive commentary. Ticketholders will also have access to the performance via YouTube for up to a week after the premiere.

In light of these changing times, Opera del Sol and its sister company Central Florida Vocal Arts have pivoted all operations to digital, streaming options. Innovation is one of Opera del Sol’s core values and we are committed to continuing to share quality arts experiences throughout the pandemic through digital platforms.
